RESEARCH
My research at AETS lab is about bioprospecting of algae, a rich source of bioactive metabolites encompassing diverse stereospecific ornamentation of chemical groups. Algal metabolites are a huge resource of untapped opportunities in the field of drug discovery yet to be explored. With the potential to revolutionize medicine and provide groundbreaking treatments for various diseases, algae hold immense promise as a source of novel drugs. My comprehensive analysis of the available research provides a compelling overview of the current state of this field and highlights the incredible potential of algae in drug discovery.

I will be exploring native microalgal species for developing biomedical drug(s) for diabetes. My major objectives are isolation and characterisation of novel bioactive metabolite(s) with biomedical potential from microlalgae and demonstration of algae based bioactive metabolite(s) as natural therapy for diabetes. I will be conducting cutting-edge interdisciplinary research to achieve my objectives. With the combined power of in-silico, in-vitro and in-vivo studies, I will be exploring the potential of algae as a source of novel drugs.
I received the prestigious Prime Minister's Research (PMRF) Fellowship from Ministry of Education, Govt of India in the cycle 9. :)
